| Unsightly excess skin of the inner thighs,
buttocks, and outer thighs may be the result of weight
loss, age, or heredity. Thigh and lower body lift procedures
remove excess fat, and tighten and trim loose, hanging
skin. |
 |
| During your initial consultation with Dr.
Kolker, he will thoroughly discuss with you your desires
and expectations for surgery. He will conduct a thorough
examination of the skin, soft tissue and muscles of the
lower trunk and extremities. He will carefully review
with you the procedure or combination of procedures that
suit you best. Dr. Kolker will answer all questions that
you might have regarding any step of the process. |

| The inner thigh lift procedure (medial
thigh lift) is performed with incisions in the groin creases.
Excess fat is removed with lipoplasty (liposuction), and
the excess skin is trimmed and redraped. The outer thighs
and buttocks are treated with a lower body lift. A circumferential
incision is made around the lower abdomen and above the
buttocks. Excess fat is removed from the thighs with liposuction,
and connections of the skin to underlying muscles are
released to allow elevation, tightening, and trimming
of excess skin. The lower abdomen is also treated with
the lower body lift procedure.
The medial thigh lift procedure takes between two and
three hours, and is performed in our fully accredited
in-office surgical facility on an ambulatory basis.
The lower body lift procedure takes between five and
eight hours, and is performed in the hospital. A hospital
stay of at least two days is required.

 |
| A compressive garment is worn for two weeks
following surgery. Small drain tubes are placed during
surgery, and will be removed between the third and seventh
day. With few exceptions, all sutures placed are dissolvable
and no suture removal in necessary. Recovery time following
medial thigh lift is about one week. You should expect
to take off two to three weeks for recuperation following
lower body lift. |
