| Breasts
may droop following pregnancy, weight loss, or as a result
of hereditary predisposition. As the breasts sag, the
skin surrounding the breasts stretches. The breast lift
procedure tightens the skin of the breast, and restores
the nipple and areola to a more youthful and pleasing
position. |
 |
| During your initial
consultation with Dr. Kolker, he will thoroughly discuss
with you your desires and expectations for surgery. He
will examine your breasts and body, making careful measurements
to determine the amount of "lift" that is optimal
for you. As every individual is different, the operation
chosen will be tailored to your specific needs and desires. |
|
| Dr. Kolker performs
multiple breast lift procedures, including circumareolar
(incision around the nipple complex), short scar (incision
around the areola and a vertical incision beneath it),
and classical lift (incision around areola with an inverted
"T" shaped incision). The technique that suits
you best will be chosen after thorough consideration.
Should you desire a fuller as well as a lifted breast,
breast augmentation with an implant can be performed simultaneously.
The breast lift procedure takes between three and four
hours.
The breast lift
procedure is performed in our fully accredited in-office
surgical facility.

| The breasts will be
swollen for several weeks following surgery. Supportive
bandages will be replaced by a sports brassiere after
one week. With few exceptions, all sutures placed are
dissolvable and no suture removal in necessary. You may
return to work after one week. Light aerobic activity
may begin at ten days to fourteen days following surgery
and more strenuous exercise is begun at three weeks. |
